How do I make a booking?
The best way to book is through our website as the best rates are available when booked directly with through our website. Alternatively you can book through sites such as VRBO or AirBNB.
*Please note Terms and Conditions of booking may differ for bookings made through third party platforms.
When a booking is made through our website, payment can be made by credit or debit card, which will be processed by STRIPE secure online payment systems.
How much is the booking deposit?
In order to make a booking a 30% of the total rate will be requested as a deposit to confirm your booking. Once a deposit is paid you will receive a booking confirmation by email.
The payment of the balance of the booking will be debited from your credit card by 120 days prior to arrival for Sunnybank House or 60 days prior to arrival for the Lodge and Townhouse.
Once the final balance is received a final booking confirmation will be sent, including further details about your stay.
If you are booking within 120 days /60 days prior to arrival, full payment will be requested.
Do I have to provide a security deposit?
Yes, a security deposit will be pre-authorised or debited from your credit card prior to arrival and released or refunded within 7 days of departure subject to any agreed deductions or charges for damage incurred. The security deposit for Sunnybank House is €1000 and €300 for the Lodge and Townhouse.
Can I book a weekend/ short stay in Sunnybank House?
Weekend and shorter stays are available in Sunnybank House, subject to availability, from October to May.
Weekend stays start from €4500 for a minimum 2 night stay. Please see our Special Offers page for details of winter break offers.
During June, July and August and September, we offer 7 night stays, generally arriving on a Saturday. Please check our booking calendars for exact availability and rates.
What is included in the rate quoted for our stay ?
The rate quoted for your stay covers the full cost of your stay;
(except for Sunnybank House where the cost of utilities are charged as consumed), including;
House fully made up and ready for arrival
Bedrooms dressed with white cotton bed linen & towels, Respa hotel beds, and Voya bathroom products
Welcome pack on arrival including a bottle of our house wine, speciality tea and coffee
Private car parking (with dedicated EV charger in Sunnybank)
Complimentary Wifi throughout
Fires/stoves set with a starter pack of turf/briquettes or wood and firelighters
Kitchen basics such including condiments, washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths, bin liners etc.
Cleaning fees
*From 2026 onwards utilities will be included in the rate for Sunnybank House.
Can I see the layout/ configuration or floor plans of each house?
Yes there are floor plans available at bottom of the webpage for each house showing bedroom and floor area layout
Arrival / Departure
You are welcome to arrive any time after 4pm – if you will arrive later than this, or are delayed, please let us know so that arrangements can be made.
During the quieter months if there are no arrivals/ departures on that day, we will endeavour to offer an earlier arrival time.
Departure is by 10am on the day of departure. We can, in limited circumstances outside of high season, facilitate a later departure time if there are no other arrival/departures in that house on the same day, if availability permits. Please enquire.
What extra services are available?
You can book extra services during your stay including
Extra housekeeping, charged on an hourly rate as required. A full mid stay clean is also available, please enquire.
Catering services – You can book local caterers to come to the house to cater for lunch/dinner or to pre prepare meals and drop them off at the house. Please enquire for details of local caterers info@connemararentals.com
Book private dining for groups in Guys Bar Clifden , sample group menus are available.
Book a dedicated wine experience with leading Sommelier, Anke Hartmann or a creative afternoon with artist and printmaker Clare Henderson
Book local group activities, exact availability depends on the time of year.
What are maximum number of guests allowed to stay?
Each house has a maximum number of guests allowed including. children of any age. Bookings are confirmed based on the number of guests stated at the time of booking and any changes (subject to maximum numbers) must be advised in advance. The maximum number for Sunnybank House is 24, the Lodge is 9 and the Townhouse is 6
Are the Pool, terrace & Sauna in Sunnybank House open all year around ?
Yes, from Autumn 2024, the swimming pool will be open throughout the year. It is heated to approx. 25 degrees celcius ( this may vary in winter depending on exact weather conditions). The pool terrace, BBQ kitchen and sauna are open all year around.
How near are local shops and restaurants?
Each of our houses is within 2 mins walk of the town square, shops and restaurants, except for the Coast House which is 5 mins drive from Clifden
Can we have food shopping delivered to the house ?
Yes – pre order grocery shopping and have it delivered on the day of arrival or during your stay.

The Eircode for your house will be on your booking confirmation.
What do we supply for young children ?
There are high chairs and travel cots available, please book in advance. There is also a supply of children’s plates/cups/ cutlery in each house.
In Sunnybank we have a Snuzpod available for babies/toddlers as well as a pull-out extra bed in room 2. We provide normal bed linen/ pillows but please bring your own cot bedding if required.
Is there Wifi?
There is good fibre broadband in each house and passwords will be supplied on arrival.
N.B. There are no land line telephones in the houses.
Is there a BBQ?
Each property has a Weber gas BBQ. Sunnybank House has a full genesis Weber BBQ
Are there hairdryers?
There is one hairdryer in each house and approx. 3 in Sunnybank House
Are there laundry facilities in the house?
Yes there are washing machines and a dryer in each house.
Do we need electrical adapters ?
All of Europe operates on the same 2 round pronged outlets except for the UK and Ireland which operate on their own unique 3 flat rectangle pronged outlets. If you are using electrical items from Europe or the US you will need a UK and Ireland power point adapter.
Can we bring our dog?
Please respect that we allow one (max. 2) well behaved dogs to accompany you on the basis that they are not allowed into bedrooms or on beds/furniture. There is a charge of €70 per dog for a week or part thereof. If by having a pet in the property, extra cleaning or specialist cleaning is required to return the property to the condition it was found in, there will be a minimum extra charge of €50.00. Pets are strictly not allowed without prior agreement.
Can we book a table at Guys Bar Clifden ?
Our guests benefit from priority reservations in Guys, please let us know if you wish to eat here at any time during your stay and we will arrange it for you. However, you don’t have to book ahead and can turn up and ask for a table.
Group bookings: We offer group bookings for lunch or dinner in the Snug area of Guys Bar and are happy to send sample group menus on request.
How many guests can be accommodated in all of your properties ?
Sunnybank House can accommodate upto 24 guests, the Lodge can accommodate upto 9 guests and the Townhouse can accommodate between 4- 6 guests. When booked together all guests are welcome to use the facilities in Sunnybank House, otherwise Sunnybank House and grounds are for the exclusive use of guests of Sunnybank House.
